My name is Maria Valerievna Petrova. I studied at the School of Design in the Animation and Illustration major. I am applying to the Concept Design Master’s program because I want to deepen my knowledge in creating high-quality visual narratives for various concept artist tasks. The program will help me become a more confident specialist in the field of digital art and will provide an excellent foundation for future work in the film, multimedia, and video game industries.

After graduating from university, I became interested in the inner workings of film production, working as a makeup artist and beautician on film sets and participating in numerous projects, including large-scale ones. However, I eventually decided to shift my specialization to favor my existing training as an illustrator designer. Therefore, a Master’s degree in concept art will be a valuable enhancement to my already substantial knowledge of film and animation creation processes, helping me to execute artist tasks with greater precision and quality—creating not empty images, but well-vetted and accurate visual representations of a specific narrative, reference, or future story.

I am prepared for intensive work and understand that this program will strengthen my knowledge in not only a necessary but also a very engaging field—the development of science fiction projects. Thank you for considering my application.

Development of a line of small, useful treats for zoo animals. The project utilized renders of custom-made 3D models and vector graphics. Additionally, a merchandise and advertising collection, including mockups for social media posts, was developed.
