Picnic of students is an annual event for first-year students of the Design School. The guys get to know each other, they can talk to their potential groupmates and patrons! Traditionally, it is held at the end of August and is organized by the mentors of the school (students of senior courses who help adapt to freshmen).
As a mentor for two years in a row, I took over the coordination of the whole event — gathering the organizers, assigning divisional responsibilities, managing budget, finance, coordinating chat rooms, playgrounds, and so on. Work on picnics has usually started in July, with several divisions working during this period: finance and budget (finance, food and props); entertainment (activity points, sites); and parks (areas). There’s also a media department at the picnic that’s responsible for shooting guys. Photos from the event I provided the P.R. In 2024/25, there were about 300 freshmen at the picnic, mainly the Moscow campus of the Maud, Design and Modern Arts programmes. The picnic was held in Khodoynsk Park.
