Zlatko Krovinsky
Zlatko Krovinsky—an old, meticulous mosquito controller who dedicated his life to dangerous and difficult service: every night, he guides mosquitoes toward the open windows of unsuspecting people. Perpetually tired, grumpy, and smoking a cigarette, he appears to be a genuine curmudgeon who hates his job, but behind his angry scowl lies a good heart, and in his agility and skill, he is unparalleled, even among his youngest colleagues.
The world of mosquitoes is completely hidden from human sight: people don’t even suspect that right above their heads exists an entire civilization with its own cities, streets, professions, rules, and dreams. While people sleep, a bustling life unfolds here—night shifts operate, plans are made, and small adventures unfold that humanity will never know about.

The antique lantern—a steadfast companion to Zlatko Krovinsky. Its soft light helps him navigate the deepest darkness and find a safe path for mosquitos. For him, it is more than just a tool; it is an object interwoven with his entire life.
