Concept.
To use still life to allow the viewer to see the person whose belongings were used to create the compositions. Through these images, to reveal that person’s inner world, interests, and habits. And from each pair of images, to highlight a particularly valued object belonging to the individual whose space is being photographed.
Goals set for this photography project: 1. To attempt to realize the concept using household items currently available. 2. To present the objects both in a state of rest and within a still life arrangement. 3. To attempt to portray myself through the photographs, the composition, and the objects.
Keepsake Object: The first part of the Harry Potter series, in English.
At the beginning of my relationship with my girlfriend (we’ll be celebrating 10 years in February), I started a tradition: every time we visited St. Petersburg, we would buy one book from this series. Eventually, we collected the entire series, plus everything related to it.
Keepsake Piece:
Miniatures One of the earliest and the very last miniature piece. The progress in painting ability is clearly visible on these. It reminds me that with enough dedication and focus, one can accomplish and learn so much.
Memorabilia Item:
The first lens used for the first «serious» shoot in the studio.
Memento:
Dog Toy
I bought this toy seven years ago when I was bringing home a puppy. The puppy was a surprise for the girl and a dream of hers from childhood. For some reason, this simple toy always brings me back to that pleasant day.
Commemorative item:
A patch gifted by a friend before deploying to the Special Military Operation
Memorabilia Item:
«Baikal» from Chernogolovka.
The taste of childhood and celebration. It reminded me of the «Soviet» soda I bought only on holidays as a child. Somehow, a tradition was formed where, even as an adult, I still buy this Baikal only for holidays, keeping those childhood feelings alive.
