Hands are hungry
While communication moves onto screens, I bring meaning back to the real world. I turn ephemeral ideas and experiences into objects you can touch, keep and feel. I don’t use ready-made forms: I make new things from the material and its environment.
Act 1. Experiment
In early April 2026, Sasha wrote to me. She was looking for a designer to help her with the visual design of her two-part exhibition project.I created the corporate identity of the exhibition, designed posters, posts and announcements, made up the curatorial text and the text of the booklet.
Materiality has become the language in this project. I decided to rely on tactility to preserve intimacy, life, and humanity.The style of the exhibition is based on archival photographs of the estate, which I experimented with. I processed them, printed them, tried to match the frames and scan them.
The resulting corporate identity was easily scaled and transferred to other media created by my colleagues.
Both exhibitions were successfully held in May 2026 in Tver in the Rails space and the Znamenskoye-Raek estate
Act 2. Extension
The exhibition represents only a small part of the vast archive of Vladimir Varnovsky, a photographer from Parfenevo, who took part in the social life of his village. When the exhibition closes, it disappears. What if the exhibition could be taken home with you?
The catalog translates the exhibition into a printed form and allows you to return to it at any time. The entire composition of the book, its structure and appearance are subordinated to the idea and structure of the exhibition.
